NUSADAILY.COM – JAKARTA – Indonesian MPR Chair Bambang Soesatyo revealed that Muhammadiyah as one of the largest mass organizations in Indonesia agreed with the limited amendments to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Limited amendments were only carried out to bring up the State Policy Principles.
“Through the presence of State Policy Principles, Muhammadiyah and MPR RI assess that whoever leads Indonesia, will have a reference to grounding Pancasila in the national development agenda in accordance with national identity and character,” Bamsoet said during the Nationality Gathering to the Muhammadiyah Central Government, at the Muhammadiyah Da’wah Building office, in Jakarta, Monday 16 December 19.
Also present were the Deputy Chairpers of the MPR RI, including Hidayat Nur Wahid (F-PKS), Zulkifli Hasan (F-PAN), and Arsul Sani (F-PPP). The Indonesian MPR delegation was accepted by PP Muhammadiyah management, including Chairperson Prof. Haedar Nashir, General Secretary Dr. Abdul Muti, General Treasurer Suyatno, and Chairpersons such as Dr. Anwar Abbas and Dr. Goodwil Zubir.
Former Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives said, Muhammadiyah’s wish to present the Principal Points of the State Policy was in accordance with the results of the Muhammadiyah Tanwir Session in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, in May 2014. The State Policy Principles were needed as a forum for elaborating the nation’s goals as stated in the Preamble of the NRI of the NRI Year 1945.
“The president must have guidelines in development. The vision and mission of the President must not be separated from the Principles of State Policy. Therefore, Muhammadiyah agreed to do a limited amendment to revive the direction of the state, “said Bamsoet.
The Head of the FKPPI State Defense Agency explained, the challenges faced by Indonesia as well as those faced by other world countries will be increasingly complex. The settlement cannot be done in just five to ten years. But it takes decades and continuity from one period of government to the successor government.
“For example, in the face of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution and climate change. World countries such as Singapore have a national consensus that is the basis of planning for up to one hundred years in tackling climate change. In the near future, for example, Indonesia has a big agenda to move the National Capital. If “there is no national consensus, only based on the law, it could be that what President Joko Widodo has pioneered has been countered by his successor through Perppu,” Bamsoet said.
The Deputy Chairperson of the Pancasila Youth once again emphasized that, despite the recommendations of the Republic of Indonesia 2014-2019 to amend the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as support from various community groups such as PP Muhammadiyah and PBNU, the MPR RI 2019-2024 will continue to conduct in-depth studies State Policy. Absorption of aspirations to various walks of life to remote areas will be carried out, so that various aspirations can be accommodated.
“More important than that, the involvement of various community groups in the dialectic of a limited amendment to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia will make the space for national discussion open wide. So that there are no community groups left behind. So that each government can take part in carrying out the constitutional mandate to realize a sovereign, united, fair Indonesia, and prosper, “Bamsoet reviewed. (dan)
