IMPERIUMDAILY.COM – MANCHESTER – Manchester City won over Leicester City 3-1 in the Week 18 English Premier League match on Sunday (12/22) morning. These results made City stick tightly to Leicester City in the Premier League standings and approached Liverpool’s leaders after winning the Week 18 match.
Entertaining its own rivals, Leicester, at Etihad Sunday WIB, Man City win from the goals of Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Guendogan and Gabriel Jesus. This buried the advantage that had had the visitors through James Vardy.
The result was not enough to lift City’s position from third, but Pep Guardiola’s team are now collecting 38 points or just one point adrift of Leicester (39).

Sheffield United, who were the surprise promotion team, managed to maintain their unbeaten away record by beating Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 when they visited Amex Stadium on Saturday night.
Sheffield now jump to fifth with a collection of 28 points, followed by Wolverhampton (27) who at the same time also reap 2-1 victory at home to Norwich City.
Southampton (18) have now left the relegation zone after defeating Aston Villa (15) 3-1 at Villa Park. The two teams switched positions, Southampton 17 one place above Villa.
Meanwhile, the Everton match against Arsenal, which was a farewell to the interim managers of the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park.
Both Duncan Ferguson at Everton and Freddie Ljungberg at Arsenal finished their respective jobs with unimpressive results. Ferguson was replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, while Ljungberg was displaced by Mikel Arteta.
In addition to the postponed match between West Ham and Liverpool which the new schedule has not been decided, the series of 18th week still leaves two other matches on Sunday evening.
