Save Indonesian Athletes, Philippine Surfers Ignore Gold Medal

IMPERIUMDAILY.COM – MANILA – Philippine surfer Roger Casugay throws away the chance of getting the 2019 SEA Games gold medal. He is more concerned with humanity by helping Indonesian athlete, Arip Nurhidayat, who is rolled by big waves. It happened in the third round of the longboard open class of sports (sports) surfing the 2019 SEA Games at Monaliza Point, San Juan, La Union, Friday (12/06/2019).

During the championship, the rope at Arip’s leg came loose. He fell into the sea and hit by big waves. Because of that, Roger can actually pitch easily to win. He can immediately get a gold medal because his opponent cannot finish.

As reported by, Roger is not interested. He prefers to help Arip. Without thinking, Roger approached Arip to save him from the waves. Marshal and the beach staff swiftly helped Roger to help with the evacuation. Arip is transported to the beach by jet ski.

The committee also postponed the race for the third round of the SEA Games 2019 longboard surfing class after that event. The fight was held again on Saturday (12/07/2019). As a result, the semifinal round and final of the SEA Games 2019 long surfing open board must also be postponed.
