SEA Games Soccer Semifinals, Indonesia Challenge Myanmar

NUSADAILY.COM – MANILA – Indonesia challenged the ruler of group A, Myanmar in the 2019 SEA Games football semifinals. Indonesia qualified for the semifinals with the title of runner up after a 4-0 win over Laos in the final Group B match at the City of Imus Grandstand, Imus, Thursday (12/5/2019).

From Group A, Myanmar and Cambodia managed to lock tickets to the semifinals. In Group B, Vietnam and the U-22 Indonesia National Team became two representatives who stepped into the top four. In the semifinals, Indonesia U-22 against Myanmar took place at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Saturday (12/07/2019) at 15.00 WIB.

As for the second semifinal, Vietnam, which becomes the ruler of Group B, will face second place in Group A, Cambodia. The match will be held on the same day and stadium, starting at 19.00 WIB.

Group A represented two participants in the 2019 SEA Games semifinals since Wednesday (12/12/2019). Myanmar, who won the group, collected 10 points from four matches. While Cambodia can surprisingly advance to the last four phase after collecting seven points and winning goal difference from the host Philippines, who collected a number of similar points.

In Group B, a 4-0 win over Laos did not boost the position of the Indonesian Under-22 national team in the final standings. Garuda Muda Team remains entrenched in second place with 12 points. The Indonesia U-22 national team is one point adrift of Vietnam, who won the group.
